Legend has it that, during the 1920s, the population of the Ryūkyū Islands was decimated by attacks from a large swarm of mandarin vespas. The most feared and the leader of the colony was known as Queen Peck. She was a ruthless killer who inoculated a lethal poison in each of her deadly pecks At dusk, he would harangue the rest of the giant hornets to terrorize the islanders during the early morning. It was the wisdom of the oldest doctor in the place, who managed to extract the poison from one of the victims and create an infallible antidote, which allowed the population to strike down the army of annihilating insects. But the most evil, Queen Peck, managed to escape. They say that it continues to lurk even today, to this day, and that the only way to remain safe is to take a drink of the concoction that receives its name.
